Lawrence Transportation Center

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager to construct a new $12M transportation facility for MSD Lawrence Township Schools. This facility includes 220 bus parking spaces with protective canopies, a visitor and staff parking lot with 88 spaces, a 231-vehicle parking lot for bus drivers, a fuel island, an eleven-bay maintenance facility, automated bus wash, cold storage building, training center and staff offices.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology – Academic Center

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this 70,000-squarefoot, three-story academic building that houses collaboration work spaces, design studios, flexible classrooms, chemistry laboratories, a kitchen laboratory, and faculty innovation spaces. The new facility also includes indoor and outdoor common spaces.

Tri-North Middle School

Bloomington, Indiana

Garmong Construction is serving as Construction Manager for this approximately 160,000-square-foot new middle school. The new building will be constructed adjacent to the existing school facility and includes a state-of-the-art media center, auditorium, two large gymnasiums, classrooms and collaborative spaces. Upon completion of the new middle school, the existing school will be demolished and replaced with new athletic fields and a track.

Park Tudor Ayres Auditorium Expansion

Indianapolis, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for the Park Tudor Ayres Auditorium expansion and renovation project. This high profile project is in the heart of Park Tudor’s campus and included new main entry aesthetics, additional lobby space, renovated restrooms and a modern appearance, all while still maintaining the classic architecture of the campus.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology – Pavilion

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong served as Construction Manager for the construction of a new, $1.5M Pavilion on the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology campus. The pavilion features seating for up to 50 people, glass sliding doors surrounding the perimeter, audio-visual equipment, outdoor grills and a sustainable green roof. The green roof provides continuity with the large living wall that features potted tropical plants and serves as a focal point for the Mussallem Student Union. Due to the sliding glass doors surrounding the perimeter, the pavilion has the ability to house events year round.

Purdue University Gateway

West Lafayette, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this iconic Purdue University Gateway structure, located at the northwest corner of State and Grant Streets. The project included decorative pavers, landscaping and new site lighting. Vertical elements of the main Gateway included six limestone and brick pillars with lighting and metal fabrication, and limestone benches incorporated into the double piers that flank the main Gateway. Construction was completed within a 120-day schedule, just in time for spring commencement activities. This Gateway celebrates Purdue’s 150-year anniversary and will serve as the backdrop for Boilermaker photos for the next 150 years.

University of Indianapolis LIlly and Martin Science Halls

Indianapolis, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Design-Builder for this fast-paced, 55,000-square-foot laboratory renovation within a compressed 14-week schedule. In addition to a newly constructed greenhouse, this renovation project features wet labs, teaching lab space, computer labs, a clean room, collaborative learning spaces, a research lab and new storage facilities with new casework, countertops, flooring, exhaust hood systems and lab storage.

Purdue University Discovery Learning Research Center

West Lafayette, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this approximately 35,000-square-foot renovation. The scope of the renovation changed the third and fourth floors from 100% office space to 80% laboratories and 20% office and collaboration space. The renovation replaced all finishes (ceiling, flooring, lighting, etc.) on levels three and four. The Purdue Institute of Integrative Neuroscience is located on the fourth floor and the Purdue Institute of Inflammation, Immunology and Infectious Diseases is located on the third floor.

Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this approximately 45,000-square-foot sports and recreation center. The facility includes two (2) gymnasiums, a fitness center, a lobby/flex space, athletic offices and locker rooms.

Purdue University Brees Academic Center

West Lafayette, Indiana

Garmong served as Construction Manager for an 11,000-square-foot renovation of the academic center’s ground floor into office and study space. The space previously housed football locker rooms, which were relocated to Purdue’s new Football Performance Complex.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology – Mussallem Union

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this $25.0M expansion and remodel project that included the addition of 19,010 square-feet and remodel of the existing 84,900-square-foot student center. New features include expanded student lounge spaces, new outdoor patio and gathering spaces, a newly refurbished main dining room and servery, new state-of-the-art spaces for the Office of Corporate Engagement and new and refurbished conference rooms.

Purdue University Honors College

West Lafayette, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as the Owner’s Technical Representative on this new 300,000-square-foot living and learning community. Garmong was engaged by Purdue to prepare a preconstruction analysis to confirm the budget and schedule, and to provide technical expertise to Purdue on its first Construction Management at Risk project. Garmong worked side-by-side with Purdue over 18 months, providing guidance for various processes ranging from Architect/Engineer selection to CMc pay application review.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology – Lakeside Hall

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this 240-bed residence hall for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute. This fast-tracked project was completed in only 12 months. Fast-tracking incorporated structural elements including steel frame, hollow core, precast floors and thin brick pre-cast exterior walls. This allowed the elimination of several months from the schedule of traditional construction delivery methods.

Ivy Tech Community College – Indiana Center for the Life Sciences

Bloomington, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for construction of the Indiana Center for Life Sciences. The Center is a joint venture of Monroe County, Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington and the Bloomington Life Sciences Partnership. The 20,000-square-foot facility is located adjacent to the Ivy Tech – Bloomington campus. The multi-faceted education and training facility houses four science labs, three classrooms and a manufacturing training space.

Indiana State University – Chilled Water Plant

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor on this 6,000-square-foot, two-story, chilled water facility. Garmong Construction self-performed many aspects of the project including all structural cast-in-place concrete work. This state-of-the-art facility provides cooling for a significant portion of ISU’s campus.

Indiana State University – Memorial Stadium Women’s Soccer Locker Rooms

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for the renovation and addition to the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team locker room at Memorial Stadium. This 8,000-square-foot, fast-tracked project was completed within four months to accommodate the athletic season.

Indiana State University – Erickson Hall

Terre Haute, Indiana

Erickson Hall was renovated to once again serve its original purpose as a residence hall facility. Existing academic/administrative functions housed in Erickson Hall were relocated to other facilities on campus. This $9.0M renovation included a total of 260 beds, all contained in double occupancy rooms with lounge/study space on each floor. Office space for Residential Life and Dining Services was included on the first floor.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology – Myers Hall Classroom

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this multiple classroom renovation project. The renovation included retrofitting four team work spaces into five high-technology, multi-media, interactive classrooms. The classrooms are now equipped with the capacity to deliver online courses, continuing education, and professional development materials throughout the world using state-of-the-art delivery technologies.

Auer Hall of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music

Bloomington, Indiana

Garmong Construction completed renovations in Auer Hall to prepare the facility acoustically for the installation of a $2.0M pipe organ that includes 3,945 pipes, three manuals (keyboards) and a pedal board. The scope included new carpeting, redesign of the enclosure around the stage and in the ceiling, a floor-mounted projection screen that is incorporated in the choral-riser system, installation of a projector in the existing ticket booth, an audio system for sound reinforcement and a new audio mixing console.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology – Rose Ventures

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Design-Builder for this $1.8M renovation of an existing 30,000-square-foot office building. The renovated space included a fully operational machine shop, wet chemistry labs, office space and a state-of-the-art presentation room. The project was phased to keep the building operational at all times.

Vincennes Community School Corporation

Vincennes, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as the Construction Manager for this $38M addition and renovation project involving four elementary schools. The project was broken into seven phases that included heavy site and utility work as well as 190,000 square-feet of interior renovation and 30,000 square-feet of new additions. Each school received an upgraded building envelope system including new windows and roofing, new HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical upgrades, and new finishes throughout.

Clay Community Schools

Brazil, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this $33.0M renovation and addition project. The scope of work included renovations and additions to Northview High School, Clay City Junior/Senior High School and Northview Middle School. Upgrades to Clay City Junior/Senior High School included a new student activity center and renovations to multiple classroom areas such as the media center, business area, family and consumer science (FACS) area, the auditorium and the band room. Northview High School included a new student activity center and classroom additions, as well as renovations to the band and vocational classrooms, locker rooms and restrooms and administrative office areas. Changes to Northview Middle School included new lockers throughout, security upgrades, as well as student docking stations.

Vigo Schools Aquatic Center

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this new 30,000-square-foot facility. It is home to three high school swimming and diving teams, the Terre Haute Torpedoes swim club, as well as swimming and lifeguarding courses. The 50 meter by 25 yard Olympic competition racing pool includes 3 – 1 meter and 1 – 3 meter diving standards. The Aquatic Center also includes a physical therapy pool, team locker rooms, a classroom and spectator seating for over 500 fans.

Lawrence Township Education and Community Center

Lawrence, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for the renovation and conversion of Craig Middle School to the Lawrence Township Community Engagement Center. The 30,000-square-foot project involved a significant amount of demolition on the interior of the building to allow space for a board room, open classrooms, secure entry ways, community relations area, reception area and several administrative offices. In addition, all new flooring, doors and hardware were installed throughout.

Fayette, Sugar Creek and Benjamin Franklin Elementary Schools

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for this $35.0M construction project for the Vigo County School Corporation (VCSC), which consisted of three elementary schools – Fayette Elementary, Benjamin Franklin Elementary, and Sugar Creek Consolidated Elementary, built simultaneously within an 18-month period. Services included preconstruction services, construction management services related to new construction, collaboration with the Owner in transitioning students to the new schools, demolition of the former and adjacent structures and conversion of the former building sites to playground/green space upon completion of demolition activities.

Booker T. Washington High School

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for this one-story, concrete block building that now serves as the new home for Booker T. Washington High School; an alternative program that serves pregnant, parenting and alternative students. The school has several classrooms for high school students, as well as, rooms dedicated to infants and young children. In addition, it has a play area in a courtyard between the two schools. The building’s metal roof allows for lower-maintenance and has a longer life expectancy than an asphalt-shingle roof. A secured hallway connects the new school to an existing high school, which allows Washington students to access the high school for classes.

Woodrow Wilson Middle School

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for the Vigo County School Corporation (VCSC) at Woodrow Wilson Middle School. Construction included the addition of a new gymnasium and interior remodel of the existing band room into a weight training fitness center. This project totaled approximately 14,000 square-feet.

Dixie Bee Elementary School

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for the Vigo County School Corporation (VCSC) for the addition of a gymnasium, kindergarten classroom and numerous interior renovations at Dixie Bee Elementary. The project was performed in conjunction with Energy Systems Group (ESG), which holds an energy-savings performance contract (ESPC) with VCSC to provide a number of energy efficiency upgrades at various school facilities. Through the ESPC, ESG’s approach allowed school officials to perform building renovations without increasing capital budgets or raising taxes in the community.

Meadows Elementary School

Terre Haute, Indiana

Garmong Construction provided Construction Management services to the Vigo County School Corporation for the completion of a 15,000-square-foot addition and interior remodel for Meadows Elementary School. Completed over an eight-month period, the addition included a gym, music room and new entry way. The gym also serves as an auditorium, complete with a stage to allow for theatrical performances, awards ceremonies, etc.

During the summer break, and simultaneous to the construction of the addition, interior work on the existing building was completed including remodel of the 550-foot interior corridor, all classrooms and the cafeteria. The main office area was remodeled to include the principal’s office, main reception area, teacher’s lounge and storage room. In addition to a new canopy and entrance-way being installed, the existing gym was converted into a media center and a new sprinkler system was installed throughout the school. The remodels involved new flooring and wall paint/coverings, as well as doors, ceilings and lighting in some areas.

Carlisle Elementary/Junior High School

Carlisle, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for over 15,000 square-feet of additions and renovations to Carlisle Elementary/Jr. High School. Interior renovations included the administration area, industrial art room, and family and consumer sciences room. The elementary school addition included two new kindergarten rooms, computer/project lab and conference and team planning areas for teachers. The junior high addition included computer and project labs, instrumental/multipurpose room, student commons area and courtyard areas for outdoor learning.

Sullivan Middle School

Sullivan, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as Construction Manager for the 100,000-square-foot Sullivan Middle School. The school includes three classroom wings, each incorporating four standard classrooms, one science classroom, science and project labs, and conference and team planning areas for teachers; a state-of-the-art media center, multi-purpose room with stage, and band and choral rooms. A vocational technology wing includes industrial arts, family and consumer sciences, art room, special needs room, gymnasium and fitness area with locker rooms, cafeteria and courtyard areas for outdoor learning.

Central Nine Career Center

Greenwood, Indiana

Garmong Construction served as General Contractor for a 40,000-square-foot demolition/renovation project at this vocational school facility. Renovations included new classrooms, floors, ceilings and all interior finishes. Central Nine Career Center, a 100,000-square-foot campus, is affiliated with nine area high schools and is comprised of seven buildings for classrooms, laboratories, offices and other instruction resource facilities.
