Vigo County Federal Credit Union New Branch

Vigo County Federal Credit Union broke ground on its first branch location in March 2009. The new eastside branch will be located on US Highway 46 in Terre Haute, Indiana and will serve as a second location to the existing and primary downtown corporate headquarters. Garmong will serve as the design-builder for the project.

 
     

Crawfordsville Airport Tour

The Crawfordsville Municipal Airport held a special Polar Bear Open House Saturday to allow patrons of the airport to preview the new terminal building.  Although the terminal won’t be ready until mid March, the Crawfordsville Board of Aviation Commissioners couldn’t wait to show off the construction.

The new terminal was built on the site of the original terminal.  The original terminal was a small farmhouse which was purchased along with the property in 1944.

 
     

Sullivan Middle School Dedication

Sullivan Middle School dedicated its new facility in December, 2008. It includes more than 100,000 square feet of new construction, three classroom wings that each includes a computer lab and teacher conference planning area, a state-of-the-art media center with a computer lab, multipurpose room with stage, and band and choral rooms. A vocational technology wing includes industrial arts, family and consumer sciences, an art room, a special needs room, a gymnasium and fitness area with locker rooms, a cafeteria, and courtyard areas for outdoor learning. The middle school and the elementary school share a kitchen and a connecting corridor.

Garmong served as Construction Manager for this project.

 
     

Ivy Tech - Bloomington
Indiana Center for the Life Sciences
Hard Hat Tour - October 28, 2008

Chancellor Whikehart of Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington hosted a hard hat tour on October 28 of the award winning Indiana Center for the Life Sciences. The 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, scheduled to open in January 2009, will house education and training programs to prepare individuals for careers in the life sciences industry. Garmong Construction Services served as general contractor.

The grand opening for this facility was held in January 2009.

Carlisle Elementary/Jr. High School

A re-dedication of Carlisle Elementary/Junior High School occurred in October, 2008. The new additions and interior renovations were completed in August just in time for the 2008-2009 school year.

 
     

Saturn of Terre Haute

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in September, 2008 for the opening of the new service garage addition at Saturn of Terre Haute.

 
     

Woodrow Wilson Middle School Gymnasium

Garmong joined Woodrow Wilson Middle School officials in April, 2008 for the dedication of the Grainger-Kennedy Gymnasium. In addition to the new auxiliary gymnasium, the project included a band room, interior remodel of the old band room into a weight training fitness area, two new bathrooms, and a concessions area. Garmong also planted a tree on the school grounds in honor of the Grainger-Kennedy Gymnasium.

 
     

Union Hospital Major Expansion

Union Hospital broke ground in September, 2007, for a $178 million expansion project. The new construction will include space for emergency services, imaging and surgery. The renovation project for the existing hospital will include all new private rooms for patients. Garmong serves as a construction partner for this project.
