Over the last Decade, Indiana University has recognized a Garmong company on four seperate occasions with the Kelley School ofBusiness Top 100 Growth award. In addition, Garmong was presented with the 2008 Governor's Half Century Award for longevity and community service, and recognized as a finalist in the Indiana Companies to Watch program presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, its Small Business Centers and Purdue University.

 

1923



•C.H. Garmong & Son, Inc. is founded.
•Historic Edgewood Grove Subdivision is created by Claude Garmong.
     
1940

 

•Garmong manufactured ammunition boxes, which were sent overseas during World War II.
     
1952




•K. Richard Garmong, son of the founder, and a Rose Polytechnic Institute graduate, becomes President of the company.
•Garmong begins light commercial design and construction projects, including churches and schools. Patented the original wood casement window.
     
1974   •Kenneth Hannum, P.E., son-in-law to Richard and also a Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology graduate, becomes the third President of Garmong.
     
1989   •David L. Hannum, P.E., becomes Garmong’s fourth President, and the first third-generation Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology graduate in the school’s history.
     
1990   •Garmong Development, LLC, is founded, offering public and private sector financing, industrial design-build, and real estate services.
     

1992

  •Garmong delivers the Tipton Municipal Public Safety Building in Tipton, Indiana. This was Indiana's first municipal design-build-leaseback project, which incorporated both fire and police stations within one building.
     
2003   •Indiana University recognizes Garmong as one of Indiana’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies.
     
2004   •David Hannum becomes Chairman of the Board, and appoints Ralph E. Wagle, P.E., as Garmong’s fifth President.
     
2005   •Garmong completes its first major, industrial building in Indianapolis: Sentry Logistic Solutions (SLS), a bio-pharmaceutical cold-storage facility.
     
2007




•Garmong is currently serving as a construction partner on the $178 million Union Hospital expansion project, one of the most extensive hospital building and renovation projects in Terre Haute’s history.
•Garmong served as design-builder on a sustainable, green project for Central Indiana Power.
